During the use of the pipette, if you suspect its accuracy, you can check the laboratory consumables yourself according to the following tips:

One: Is the pipette leaking?

1. Self-test:

Visual inspection: Place the pipette after the liquid is sucked vertically for 15 seconds, and observe whether there is a slow drop
Outflow. If there is an outflow, it means there is a leak.

Pressure pump detection: use a special pressure pump to detect the pressure and determine whether there is a gas leak.

2. Possible causes:

(1) Does the tip match? —— Use original matching tips

(2) Is there any tightening when assembling the suction head?

(3) The air tightness of the pipette is not good?

Two: Will the temperature difference between the liquid, pipette, tip and environment affect the accuracy of the pipette?
If the temperature of the pipetted liquid is inconsistent with the temperature of the pipette tip and the pipette, if the liquid temperature is higher than the pipette tip, the volume of the pipette liquid will be too large, and if the liquid temperature is lower than the pipette tip, the volume of liquid Too small.

Three: Is there a very obvious difference between the density of liquid samples and water?
The calibration of most pipettes before leaving the factory is tested with water as the standard liquid. If the specific gravity of the liquid to be operated is very different from the water, the given inaccuracy and inaccuracy cannot be satisfied, resulting in errors. .

Four: If the pipetting speed is too fast, will the pipetting volume be inaccurate?
If the pipetting speed is too fast, backflushing and air bubbles will be generated, resulting in inaccurate pipetting volume.

When the pipette is not used for a long time, it is recommended to adjust the scale to the maximum range to restore the spring to its original shape and extend the life of the pipette.
