The graduated pipette tip is an indispensable tool for experimental operation. For top experts, the most important thing is that the experiment has the smallest error and good reproducibility. Then we must pay attention to the correct use of the pipette gun to avoid small losses.

1. Install the suction head

The handle of the graduated pipette tip is pressed down firmly, and it can be rotated in small steps when needed.
Wrong operation:
Hit the suction head hard. This method will cause damage to the tip and even wear of the pipette handle, which will affect its sealing.

2. Range setting

Please select the correct graduated pipette tip before operation. The pipette can be operated in the range of 10-100%, but operation at 10% range requires high pipetting skills, so it is recommended to operate in the range of 35-100% range .
Range adjustment:
When adjusting from a small range to a large range, rotate continuously in the direction of the desired range, and then return to the desired range when the rotation reaches 1/3 turn beyond the required range. When adjusting from a large range to a small range, rotate directly to the desired range.

3. Run

Viscous liquid can be accurately pipetted by pre-wetting the tip. The sample liquid is first sucked and ejected. The inner wall of the tip will absorb a layer of liquid to saturate the surface adsorption, and then suck the sample liquid, and finally the liquid The volume will be very accurate.

Repeat aspiration and drainage with the same sample two to three times, and rinse to provide the same contact surface for each subsequent aspirate to ensure the consistency of the operation.

For samples at normal temperature, tip rinsing helps to improve accuracy; but for samples with high temperature or low temperature, tip rinsing reduces the accuracy of the operation, so users should pay special attention.

4. Immersion angle of suction head

Keep the vertical state as much as possible when aspiration, the angle of inclination cannot exceed 20 °

5. Immersion depth of suction head

6. Immersion time of suction head

After aspiration, hold in the liquid surface for one second and then gently remove the tip. This is especially important for large-volume pipettes or for sucking viscous samples.

7. Liquid suction speed

Consistent pipetting at a constant speed, control the pipetting speed, too fast will cause liquid spray, liquid or aerosol to rush into the pipette, contaminating the piston and other components.

8. Discharge and blowout

First press the piston to the first gear to discharge, and after a short pause, press to the second gear to blow.

9. Hand temperature

The pipette should not be held in your hand for a long time. It is best to hang it on the stand or hang it on your hand when not in use.
